JOB DESCRIPTION:

HEAVY AUTOMOBILE TECHNICIAN [ELECTRICAL BACKGROUND]

Educational Requirements: 

• Fluent knowledge of English language (Speak, Read and Write). 

• Certification from High School. 

• Three years technical engineering (polytechnic/HND) will be preferred or diploma in Automobile/mechanical engineering • Two/One (Diesel mechanic) years relevant trade experience (ITI/ND) from recognized institution. 

Work Experience: 

• Minimum  3 to 6 Year  experience (Ref 9.7.8) as a Heavy Automobile Technician Aluminum smelters or heavy industry. 

• Ability to perform work normally performed by this craft independently. 

• Exposure to Aluminum smelters or heavy industry will be an added advantage

Job Description (but not limited to): 

• Ability to work out independently on maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy industrial vehicle like mobile cranes, forklifts, dozers, loaders and other earth moving equipment. 

• The candidate should have good experience with auto engines, under chassis suspension systems, hydraulics and pneumatics systems. 

• Must have ability to read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic control circuit diagrams 

• Ability to carry out independently overhauling, alignment & trouble shooting of Pumps, differential units, Gear Boxes, Pneumatic & Hydraulic Power packs etc. 

• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze equipment problems, and to request required spare parts. 

• Carryout day to day plant maintenance work independently. 

• Implement mechanical preventive maintenance, follow established procedures and record all results. 

• Ability to drive forklifts as per Qatalum lifting regulations is preferred. 

• In addition to his normal jobs, he should assist and participate in other maintenance activities. 

• Understands and apply plant safety standards and maintenance procedures while performing work. 

For Auto Electrician: 

• Basic knowledge of heavy automobile electrical systems. 

• Working experience with CAN BUS will be preferred. 

• Ability to read and trouble shoot with OEM software tools. 

• Capability to overall heavy auto electrical harness system. 

INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN

Educational Requirement: 

• Fluent knowledge of English language (Speak, Read and Write). 

• Certification from High School. 

• Three years technical engineering diploma in instrumentation engineering (polytechnic/HND) will be preferred Minimum 3 Years of experience preferred. or 

• Two years relevant trade certificate with relevant more years of experience (ITI/ND). from recognized institution Minimum 5 Years of experience preferred.

Minimum Work Experience 

• Minimum experience of 2 to 6 years as an instrument Technician Aluminium smelter, Petrochemical Plant or heavy industry. 

• Ability to perform work normally performed by this craft independently. 

• Experience as an Instrument Technician in Aluminium smelters, power plant, petrochemical, Oil, and Gas plan will be an added advantage, 

Job Requirements (but not limited to) 

• Understand and follow plant safety standards and procedures. 

• Understand and follow standard maintenance procedures. 

• Understand and follow manufacturer’s troubleshooting and maintenance procedures. 

• Correctly use and care for test and calibration equipment. 

• Follow good housekeeping practices. 

• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, electronic and “smart” instruments. 

• Calibrate pneumatic, electronic and digital instruments. 

• Overhaul control valves and other instruments. 

• Read and understand P&ID, Loop, Logic and Electrical drawings. 

• Follow ISO procedural requirements for calibration and record keeping. 

• Tune feedback control loops. 

• Follow plant preventive maintenance procedures. 

• Function test safety critical instrument systems following provided written procedures. 

• Understand maintenance and calibration requirements for instrument systems such as compressor controls, vibration monitoring, boiler controls, interlock systems, emergency shutdown systems, and fire and gas detection systems. 

• The work scope also includes all instrument and control system such as process control instrumentation, DCS & PLC control system, and gas turbine and compressors control system and its necessary accessories, CCC Anti Surge Control system, ESD relays, pneumatic operated control valves. Motor operated control valves, hydraulic operated control valves. • In addition to his normal jobs, he should assist and participate in other maintenance activities. 

• Safe and proper care of tools. 

• Work as a team with operations, engineering, and maintenance. 

• Take initiative, look for opportunities to improve instrument reliability and reduce maintenance costs. 

• Actively participate in company safety and training programs. 

ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN [ADHOC]

 Fluent knowledge of the English language (Speak, Read, and Write) 

 Certification from High School. 

 Three-year technical engineering diplomas in Electrical engineering (polytechnic/HND) will be preferred. 

 Two years relevant trade certificate with relevant years of experience (ITI/ND) from a recognized institution.. 

Work Experience 

 Minimum year of experience as an Electrical Technician in Aluminum smelters, Petrochemical plants, or heavy industry.  Ability to perform work normally performed by this craft independently. 

 Experience as an Electrical technician in Aluminum Smelters, power plant, petrochemical, oil and gas Plant will be an added advantage,  

Job Description (but not limited to): 

 Follow plant safety standards and procedures. Be familiar with typical Aluminum smelters, Petrochemical plants, or heavy industry safety hazards. 

 Follow standard maintenance procedures 

 Follow the manufacturer’s troubleshooting and maintenance procedures. Correctly use and care for test and calibration equipment. 

 Implement good housekeeping practices 

 Use standard instruments to measure voltage, amperage, speed, rotation, and vibration 

 Troubleshoot and repair ground faults 

 Repair electrical motors up to 500 HP including replacement of bearings and seals, installation of motor, and connection of starters and circuits. 

 Maintenance of battery standby systems (UPS) and inverters 

 Read electrical, relay logic, and schematic drawings and use these to troubleshoot and repair circuits. 

 Installation of conduit, enclosures, wiring, connections, and controls up to 480 V for new construction. 

 Repair and maintain cathodic protection systems, Overhead cranes, Automatic Overhead Doors, and other electrically operated equipment. 

 Splice cables up to 500 MCM 

 Read and interpret schematics for power distribution systems up to 33 KV including repair and maintenance of 10 MVA transformers. 

 Work at elevated heights 

 In addition to his normal jobs, he should assist and participate in other maintenance activities 

 Carry out established Preventive Maintenance procedures on electrical equipment 

 Write reports, complete forms and mark up drawings and other documentation. 

 Safe and proper care of tools 

 Work as a team with operations, technical, and maintenance
